3D pictures of the new Baby

That is his foot by his face, his arm/hand below his chin and his cute little nose.

He was opening and closing his mouth.

He even stuck out his tongue for us.

Here is his tongue sticking out again and his hand near his face.
He kept trying to cover his eyes with his hand.

Good shot of his shoulder, upper arm and forearm. Again with his hand near his face.

This was when Hayley and Trevor starting getting restless.
We think he was saying, "Aye Aye Aye"

Amy at 23 weeks

Here I am at 23 weeks pregnant. Just to give you an idea of how big my belly is, it was 45 inches around when I measured it just after taking the picture. Hopefully boy baby does not mean big baby again.

Baseball Season has begun...

Opening Day was Saturday, March 19 and it was raining so we held Opening Ceremonies in the gym at the school near the ball fields. Due to the massive rain storms during the middle to end of March this is what happened to the kids baseball games:

  • March 19 - both kids games canceled due to rain
  • March 22 - Hayley got to play - rain started just as game ended
  • March 23 - Trevor's game canceled due to rain
  • March 26 - both kids games canceled due to rain
  • March 29 - Both kids got to play - Trevor's game called for darkness just as Trevor was up to bat with bases loaded and only 1 out. (Not fair)
  • March 31 - Trevor's game canceled when opponent did not show to make up game
  • April 2 - both kids got to play
  • April 7 (tomorrow) - Thunder storms expected. Hopefully after the games, so the kids can play
Trevor has been playing 1st base and pitching for his team and Hayley has been all over the field learning each position. I will try to remember the camera this week for the games so you can see the kids in action.

Hayley Lost Something (Twice)

On March 24 Hayley and Trevor were playing in the room when Hayley ran out saying Trevor pulled her tooth out. She was bleeding from her mouth but was smiling ear to ear. She had put a stuffed animal in her mouth and Trevor decided it was a smart idea to rip it out of her mouth. Well thanks to his help she received $5 from the Tooth Fairy that night. (that is the same amount the Tooth Fairy left for Trevor for his 1st tooth).

Then on April 1, Hayley lost her 2nd tooth. It was wiggly all day and she asked Sean to use his dental floss trick in the evening and OUT it came. She was not so fortunate with the Tooth Fairy that night as she only found $1 under her pillow when she woke up.

Redwood Canopy Tour

Today we did something today we have never done before and we owe it all to Devon and Evan. We went on a Zip Line tour through the Redwood Forest. Devon, who by the way is afraid out heights, put the word out that there was this Zip Line tour she had heard about and wanted to see if anyone wanted to join her and Evan. Well, everyone she asked said yes and there was no backing out for her. Several of us were scared once we got there and saw how high up we were, but in the end we all made it through and had a BLAST in the process.

Here we are being briefed on the tour and about to get our gear on. There were 10 of us in total who went, but we had to split into 2 groups. The 1st group to go was Steve, Tammy, Evan, Devon, Sean and I.

The second group was Lori, Rich, Dan and Rosie.

The hike to the starting point: Training Camp.

Before they would let us out on the real thing we all had to learn how to properly hold our hands, how to steer if we started to spin, and most importantly HOW TO STOP! Sean was up first.

Followed by Tammy...

Then Steve...

Next to go is Evan...

And last, but not least Devon.

After Training Camp we had to walk up this narrow bridge to the 1st real Zip Line. The Tour Guide, Ian, said they used to call this Zip Line "The Point of No Return." They have changed the name to be more positive and now it is called "the Warm Up." I like the new name best.

Away we go...

This is the view of a bridge from our first Zip Line Platform. Little did I know when I took the picture that we would end up walking across that bridge. It was very shaky.

Steve on his way in after the 2nd Zip Line.

Evan just dangling towards the end of the 2nd Zip Line.

Devon making her way to the platform. Despite being afraid of heights, I thought Devon was very brave and did an amazing job on the Zip Line Tour.

Here comes Sean...

The event organizers.
Thank you Evan and Devon for inviting us to share this adventure with you!

The view from the bridge as we walked across it. I was getting dizzy looking down to take the picture as I walked on the bridge. Not the best idea I could have had.

Sean, Tammy and Steve as our guide, Coco, stopped in the middle of the bridge so we could see the trees all around us. While it was very beautiful, it was really freaky to be on a swaying bridge this high up (even though we were hooked to the zip line above). Steve and Sean did what most 8 years old boys would do as they crossed the bridge. Yes, you guessed it. They spit off the side. Way to go guys!

Here is the view of Steve, Tammy, Sean and I on the bridge.
(Photo taken by Dan/Rosie from the same place I took the first picture from)

Tammy on our 5th and longest Zip Line.
This is the Zip Line that most of us really liked and the one in which I was finally comfortable with what we were doing. Too bad there was only one more to the end.

Here is Rosie on her Zip Line Tour.

We had so much fun together on the Redwood Canopy Tour and having lunch together afterward, that we have decided to plan another event. White Water rafting or The Moaning Caverns? What to do, What to do?

Hayley's New Passion - The Rock Wall

On Saturday, June 26 after finishing up celebrating Trevor's 9th birthday we went to Pump it Up for Erick's 10th birthday.

Most of the party was in a Black Light room so I was not able to get any pictures. The few I did of Hayley climbing the rock wall were taken in the second room that had very low light so I had to use the flash. The room was not a dark as the black light room, but still couldn't see very easily. We were amazed to watch Hayley scale the rock wall despite not being able to see very well. Here are some pictures of our little climber.

You can see Trevor in this one too.

After about 2 times up the wall Hayley realized there was a bell at the top. From that point on she climbed all the way to the top, rang the bell, and pushed herself off the wall to come back down. Then she would climb right back up without taking a break. She must have done this about 4 or 5 times in a row. Sean and I were so impressed that her little arms could do all that climbing and so fast. Besides Trevor (one time) Hayley was the only kid that climbed all the way to the top and definitely the only one that climb at all that many times. We are going to look into Rock Climbing classes at City Beach for her.

Trevor's Birthday Sleep Over

Well, Trevor's Birthday Sleep Over got off to a great start.

Within the first 15 minutes of kids arriving a hard ball broke our back window. The 4 kids who were in the backyard when it happened, you know who you are, all said they didn't know it was a hard ball they were playing with. Funny thing though is that I leaned out the back door and in a louder than normal voice said, "You better be careful, that is a hardball." For some reason or another they don't remember me saying that, although Sean and my sister heard me say it. They also didn't realize that the ball they were pitching was a hardball even though each boy who was in the back yard has played baseball from 3-6 years.

I think their main problem was that the person batting was a lefty which meant the ball was going towards the house no matter what. If they wanted to play longer they should have pitched the HARD BALL to a right handed batter who would have hit it towards the fence thus allowing more play time. Oh well, it was truly an accident and we can just get it fixed.

Just a note: The boy who was holding the ball when I said be careful, despite them not hearing me say this, was not the one to throw the infamous pitch. He was pretty smart to let someone else throw it.

After all the kids arrived Sean, his Aunt Susan, my sister and I took all the boys to play Mini Golf. Since we had 11 of us, we broke up into two groups. Trevor, Erick, Benjamin, Dylan and Rhay were in the first group and decided they did not want to keep score or play by the normal rules. The second group was Sean, Susan, Karen, Xavier and Nick who did decide to play by the rules but didn't keep score. Well, just Xavier did.

Here is Erick trying to get his ball into the hole. It took some time, but he was determined. Erick's birthday is also June 26 like Trevor. I was glad he was able to join us.

The one problem with not playing by the rules is that you finish each hole really quickly and then leave your second group in the dust. I kept having to ask them to slow down.

Nick and Xavier taking a rest about half way through the golf course.

Here is Sean's Aunt Susan on Hole #10. She is used to playing with a hockey stick, but did very well with the golf club.

Dylan being silly as the rest of his group finishes playing Hole #11.
I think he got a hole-in-one on this hole.

Nick concentrating on hitting the ball so that is goes in the loop and comes out the other side close to the hole.

Aunt Susan was so much fun to have with us. She help Benjamin learn not to swing the club above his knees. One Hole #1 and #2 he almost took mine and Susan's head off. Thankfully he got much better as he played.

Here is the boys cheering, no I mean heckling, Aunt Susan as she tried to make it in the hole to win a free game of golf. They were so funny and she laughed. They all enjoyed having her go golfing with us.

After none of us were successful at the last hole for a free game the boys decided to roll down the hill. What cheap fun.

Boys will be boys.
I asked for a picture as we left the golf course and this is what I got.

Hole-in-one Update:
Dylan - 2
Trevor - 1
Nick - 1
Rhay - 1
Xavier - 1
Sean - 1
